Brazil
Who We Are Looking For: DevGrid, a UK and Brazil-based software development firm and venture investor with a global footprint, is building a high-performance team in Brazil for a key portfolio company. This Is a High-Intensity Role: We are looking for a dedicated engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments. Please note the following requirements: Schedule: Monday–Saturday commitment. Intensity: 9 - 10 hours of daily screen time; high engagement and availability on chat. Communication: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Mindset: A high degree of proactivity, commitment, and a drive to deliver cutting-edge AI products. The Opportunity: As a senior engineer, you will own the client's AI platform, shaping the next generation of intelligent workflows. This lead role is designed for a self-starter who thrives under pressure, builds production-grade AI systems, and ships LLM-powered agents that automate complex business processes end-to-end. Working directly with the founders and Head of Product, you will evolve the existing architecture while leading AI engineering for upcoming features. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define engineering standards, tooling, and best practices, building a robust, well-documented foundation for future scalability. This is more than a standard placement - it is a high-reward sprint for someone ready to make a significant impact. Your Role and Responsibilities: Platform Leadership: Drive the technical development and strategic evolution of the core AI platform. AI Development: Design, build, and maintain sophisticated AI agents and automated workflows for complex operational tasks. Agentic Workflows: Lead the design and implementation of multi-node agentic workflows capable of complex reasoning across large document corpora. RAG Implementation: Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to ground LLM responses in proprietary data. Model Adaptation: Experiment with and adapt LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini) to meet specific product and business requirements. Integration: Evaluate existing APIs, define integration strategies, and implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) support. Orchestration: Build, maintain, and document orchestration pipelines using frameworks like LangGraph or AutoGen. Collaboration: Partner with ML teams to integrate LLM outputs, vector retrieval pipelines, and evaluation harnesses. Quality & Safety: Improve reliability through rigorous testing, monitoring, and iterative development. AI-Assisted Velocity: Leverage AI-coding tools to enhance code quality and test coverage. Strategic Planning: Participate in roadmap planning, scoping, and internal reviews as a technical lead. Client Validation: Work directly with clients to validate AI outputs and translate feedback into platform improvements. Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of AI automation and agentic systems. Essential Qualifications: 5+ years of production software development experience including more than 2 years in a senior or lead role Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and/or JavaScript Deep expertise in LLM prompting, structured output techniques, and agentic system design Experience designing graph-based agentic systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, evaluation, guardrails, and LLM observability Strong experience with vector stores (Pinecone, Weaviate), MongoDB, and document processing pipelines Solid understanding of LLM Ops: prompt versioning, continuous evaluation, and A/B testing in production Familiarity with MCP or similar tool-integration protocols Good understanding of data privacy and ethical considerations in AI Familiarity with DevOps fundamentals and CI/CD Experience working with international, cross-functional, remote teams Advanced English, written and spoken, is a must. Key Qualifications (Preferred): Degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred, but not required if you have a strong portfolio). Exposure to regulated industries where precision and auditability matter Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and backend infrastructure Experience with observability tools such as LangSmith and Weights & Biases Active use of AI development tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) Experience defining or contributing to engineering foundations at a founding-stage company Passion for building products with real-world impact Equivalent practical experience and a strong portfolio of shipped AI products are equally valued.
